The Project
As part of a launch campaign for their latest album, rock band Orion's Odyssey needed a full suite of design and visuals, including album artwork, T-shirts and accessories for their live tours.
Known for incorporating both glam rock and celestial themes into their albums, Orion’s Odyssey’s latest release Event Horizon was no exception to the rule. The concept album takes us on a journey through the stars, with killer headbangers such as Cosmic Dawn, all the way to the epic, experimental closing ballad Into the Abyss.
The Solution
A full visual package was created for the band, including album cover & packaging, as well as supporting merchandise to be sold on their tours, such as T-shirts and accessories. I took the title of the album to craft an artistic interpretation of a black hole, represented also on the vinyl disc itself, complemented by its natural circular shimmer.
Using lyrics and song titles from Event Horizon, I was able to craft stylish designs which remained in keeping with the overall tone and aesthetic of the album, allowing fans to show their support for the band at their shows.
